Blacksmithing Courses and Workshops
Since our inception, we at Mojo Metal Design have been privileged to work at something for which we are deeply passionate – creating high quality designer metalwork. Over the years we have acquired a multitude of skills through our work at our design studio. Our creative instincts have been nurtured by the nature and history of the beautifully idyllic Castleview Mills in West Cork. This 18th century mill with its out buildings, set amongst mature deciduous native trees on the banks of the Argideen River has been a source of influence and guidance, as we work in the space of generations past.
This is what we want to share with you. Over the past year, we have established a blacksmithing school and now offer a wide range of courses offering the potential to learn new skills, experience an ancient craft and provide a creative outlet – culminating in the individual finishing a course with ironwork wrought by their very own hands.
Course Details
Please note all courses include lunches at a local restaurant in Clonakilty. Accommodation in a local B&B is available at €25 per night.

One-to-one blacksmithing courses €250 per day
Aimed at individuals seeking to learn specific skills. These courses are tailored to suit the students requirements. Because of the one-to-one student teacher dynamic, the student will learn and master more skills than those in a group environment.
Team Building Workshops Price dependent on design
Ideal for corporate and school groups, these workshops are aimed at larger groups of students. Ideal for creating sculptural pieces of art for public spaces, company reception lobbies/grounds or whatever the requirement of the group. Pieces can also be auctioned to raise money for charities.
Working closely with the Mojo design studio, a design is created and agreed. Elementsof the sculpture are then forged by the group. If required, the sculpture is assembled and finished by Mojo and installed in the chosen location. A fantastic opportunity for people to work together to create a piece of art which will last for generations.
No previous experience is required and our own team of blacksmiths will be on hand to teach and guide the students with their tasks.
Subsidised lunches and accommodation can be arranged in nearby Clonakilty, a vibrant coastal West Cork town with much to offer travelling smiths!
